What is Chiropractic Treatment?
Chiropractic care centres on the relationship between the structure of the body, chiefly the spine, and the way it functions. When a joint becomes restricted or misaligned, it can affect surrounding muscles and nerves and contribute to pain or reduced movement. By restoring proper joint motion, chiropractic treatment aims to relieve that strain and allow the body to work more comfortably.
It is a treatment suitable for many ages and stages of life. Several of our chiropractors have undertaken further training in areas such as paediatric and pregnancy care, so we are able to tailor our approach to a broad range of patients.

What a Chiropractic Adjustment Involves
During an adjustment, your chiropractor uses their hands to apply a quick, controlled force to a specific joint. When this is done to the spine, you may hear a brief popping or cracking sound. This is simply gas releasing within the joint and is nothing to be concerned about. The technique is precise and tailored to your comfort, and we will always explain what we are doing before we begin.
Adjustments are rarely used in isolation. Depending on your needs, we may combine them with soft tissue work, targeted exercises and practical advice on posture and daily habits, building a plan that supports lasting improvement.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Your First Visit
Your care begins with a thorough consultation. We take time to understand your symptoms, your medical history and your goals before carrying out a physical and chiropractic assessment. Only once we have a clear picture do we recommend a plan, and we will be honest with you if we feel chiropractic care is not the right answer for your particular situation.

FAQ's
Frequently Asked Questions
Is spinal decompression painful?
No. The vast majority of patients find the treatment comfortable and even relaxing. The forces involved are gentle and carefully controlled throughout each session.
How is it different from traction?
Traditional traction applies a broad, general pull. Spinal decompression uses computer-controlled forces that are directed at specific levels of the spine, which allows for a far more precise and targeted approach.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your individual condition and how you respond. Most people benefit from a structured course of care rather than a single visit, and we will outline the likely number of sessions once we have completed your assessment.
Is spinal decompression safe?
When it follows a proper assessment, yes. We screen every patient carefully beforehand to make sure the treatment is appropriate, because it is not suitable for everyone.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required. You are welcome to book an assessment with us directly.
